Footage: Final Fantasy XIII & Final Fantasy XIII-2; Square Enix

Soundtrack: The Loving Kind; Girls Aloud

——-

Originally intended as a just-for-fun incomplete-able follow-up to a previous video, but also acts as a teaser trailer for the upcoming ‘Final Fantasy XIII-2’.

Footage: Final Fantasy XIII; Square Enix

Soundtrack: Call the Shots; Girls Aloud

——-

While the song is not something you associate with the genre or the game, I feel in the video that it upholds the emotion of the experience and the mystifying instruments complement the fantasy of this other world. It is my most recently completed editing work.

Footage: Final Fantasy VIII; Square Enix

Soundtrack: Eyes On Me; Faye Wong

——-

My attempt at creating a music video for Final Fantasy VIII using it’s theme song that features during the game’s ending. My aim was to juxtapose the wormhole clips and use it as a subtle transitory effect at various point throughout the video to visually strengthen the game’s theme of ‘time compression’. While this video demonstrates rather overt editing techniques it also demonstrates subtle techniques that could go unnoticed.

Soundtrack: Ego; Beyonce Knowles

Demonstrates my ability to harmoniously combine two things that would previously seem incompatible.

Footage: Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2; Square Enix

Soundtrack: Sweet Dreams; Beyonce Knowles

——-

This was an experimental video in that I tried new techniques with familiar content to help express the theme of ‘dreams’. These experimental effects included flickering brightness, repetitive clips and cuts and subtle usage of filters. As the music ends, the video ‘wakes up’ into reality. I also feel this is my strongest video using this particular footage.

Footage: Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken 4, Tekken 5, Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection, Tekken 6 & Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion; Namco Bandai

Soundtrack: Freak Like Me (Extended Remix); Sugababes

——-

This video was originally intended as a kind of musical celebration of the Tekken video game series, however it doubles as a kind of trailer, recap or hype generator for the yet to be released Tekken 6 (at the time), as the video covers the storyline up to that point and ends with a kind of ‘cliff-hanger’. It demonstrates my unusual choice of soundtrack which while unexpected, works well.
