While the song is not something you associate with the genre or the game, I feel in the video that it upholds the emotion of the experience and the mystifying instruments complement the fantasy of this other world. It is my most recently completed editing work.

My attempt at creating a music video for Final Fantasy VIII using it’s theme song that features during the game’s ending. My aim was to juxtapose the wormhole clips and use it as a subtle transitory effect at various point throughout the video to visually strengthen the game’s theme of ‘time compression’. While this video demonstrates rather overt editing techniques it also demonstrates subtle techniques that could go unnoticed.

I used the introductory theme of the series’ first instalment ’Soul Blade’ (Soul Edge) and recreated the intro’ using footage from the current instalment at the time, ‘Soul Calibur III’. The video doubles as a kind of trailer and shows off my skills with timing.

This video was made for someone who requested it of me on youtube. The client was very pleased with the outcome and I think it demonstrates to a degree my ability to work well to standards set by others while maintaining my own style.
